China: Artistic restoration

An artisan from the nationally protected Tianjin "Clay Figurine Zhang" studio restores damaged painted clay deities inside Tianjin Folk Customs Museum (Tianhou Temple) on December 9, 2025. The largest restoration since the temple's 1986 reopening, the work — covering 46 statues across 12 halls — follows the "repair as old" principle and is part of preparations for the temple's 700th anniversary next year.
