China: Giant takes shape

A domestically developed 14-meter-class ultra-large diameter tunnel boring machine rolls off the production line in Nantong city, Jiangsu province, on March 31, 2026. Built by China Railway Construction Corporation, the machine will be used for the Yangtze River tunnel on a new high-speed railway connecting the province's Yancheng, Taizhou, Wuxi, Changzhou, and Yixing cities.
