Waiting in line

As the Spring Festival holiday draws to a close in 1993, a crowd of migrant workers (left) jostle as they try to enter a railway station in Fuyang, Anhui province, to catch a train back to work in one of China's major cities. Over the past decades, while people lives may have changed and the trains have been upgraded, Spring Festival still represents China's largest period of mass migration.
