The 4th Asia Press Photo Contest Gold Prizes public notice

Hosted by Asia News Network and organized by China Daily, the 4th Asia Press Photo Contest has finished the judging work. After a series of judging process by five experts and scholars from Thailand, Bosnia and Herzegovina, India and China, the Gold Prizes are now publicly displayed below.

The publicity period is from May 6 to 12, 2016, 7 days in total.

After one week, if no objection, the organization committee office will contact the photographers by phone, fax or email.

The China International Press Photo Contest (CHIPP) is privileged to launch its 12thannual competition. Entries will be received from 31 December 2015 to 15February 2016. The judging session will be held in March 2016 in China¡¯s southwestern city of Chengdu. All the entrants are encouraged to submit photos through online registration system; however, photo CDs by post are also acceptable. The detailed rules and information are given as follows.

The motto of the CHIPP is PEACE AND DEVELOPMENT. The works submitted are encouraged to keep the theme of promoting world peace and driving progress in politics and economy. The entries may reflect social conflicts, problems or achievements in the fields of global politics, economy, science, technology, ecosystem and environment; or demonstrate the human efforts in pursuing peace and development by visual presentation; or relay the information reflecting human emotion, willpower, strength and fate.

The 3rd Asia Press Photo Contest announced in Beijing(2012/9/20 12:00:41)
 

Sadness, compassion, gratitude, perseverance, and joy. These are just some of the feelings evoked by the winning pictures on this page. Truly, a photo speaks a thousand words. The 3rd Asia Press Photo Contest announced in Beijing in September, 2012. The winners distinguished themselves from some 520 photojournalists from 27 Asian countries who took part in the competition to vie for top spots in such categories as spot news, general news, economic, scientific and technical news, portraits, daily life and sports news, arts and entertainment news, nature and environmental news. The panel received more than 3,000 entries. Themed ¡°Changing Asia¡±, the contest, organized by the Asia News Network and China Daily, is dedicated to adding nuances to outsiders¡¯ perceptions of contemporary Asia and strengthening understanding, co-operation and dialogue between Asia and the rest of the world. Some of the photos have been published in 2011 in 21 leading Asian newspapers in 19 countries.

The Asia News Photo Website (www.asianewsphoto.com), operated by China Daily on behalf of Asia News Network, will have a soft launch on March 1, 2006.

The website features pictures from Asia, which will mainly be contributed by ANN members.

The website specially seeks contributions from freelance professionals as well as organizations in Asia.

The photo service will span the whole spectrum ¨C from news, features and events to fashion, the environment and sports.
