New Year's Letter to All Photographers from Zhu Ling, Editor-in-Chief of China Daily(2006-12-26 20:19:01) |
| |
As you are ready to press the shutters for the first day of the New Year, I, on behalf of the staff of China Daily and in my own name, would love to express my sincere gratitude to tens of thousands of photographers for their enduring and consistent support and help in the cause of China Daily press photography.
In December 2006, as the New Year approaches, we have just inspected and honored the www.asianewsphoto.com, which was founded and put into trial operation in the beginning of this year. The event marks the sucessful upgrade of www.newsphoto.com.cn to www.asianewsphoto.com by the Asia News Network, a network of national daily newspapers in Asia. The event also marks a new starting point for the photographers from home and abroad to welcome the revamp of China’s only English newspaper China Daily in January 2007, from the current 16 pages to 24, the largest in scale since its founding 25 years ago.
In the information era, the Internet technologies have enabled us to feast on their conveniences, while they also bring upon many challenges that we are unable to fend off. China Daily, with a view to build a large-scale selecting and editing mechanism by adopting an honest, truth-seeking and precise working style, stands ready to cooperate with our friends from all circles to set up a bridge for communications within the circles and with foreign friends, in a bid to strengthen the news features, timeliness, visual effects and interactions of the newspaper and press photos, and provide a better service for the photojournalists and the media.
The New Year is around the corner, let me end by wishing all of you a happy New Year, good health, and more and better press photos in the New Year!
Zhu Ling
Editor-in-Chief
